Breathtaking Sunsets and Views at Sombrero Island

They say, sunsets depict the completion of one’s work, a time to end the day and take a break. It’s a symbol of life’s beauty and mystery. Most of you must have heard about Sombrero Island in the Philippines for the first time, through this post. In this glorious island, I witnessed some of the awesome sunsets that I really wanted to share with you.

I remember how mesmerized I am gazing at such beauty, that time seemed to stop. I felt like freezing the moment so that I might capture everything I see and save it in my memory. The island is called as Sombrero (hat in English) because of its hat-like appearance.

What about you, how do you feel when you watch the sunsets? Isn’t it romantic to watch them with your loved-ones? Sunsets remind me that I’m just a small part of this wonderful creation. It sure has a calming effect on me and gives a positive vibe that life is worth living.

Nearby, there is a powder-like, white sandbar that stretches through the sea. It’s one of the best sites for swimming. If you’ve gone to Boracay, the quality of sand here is very much or almost similar.

It would be much happier to come with friends and enjoy not just the sights but the company of everyone. In the morning, this is what Sombrero Island looks like, quiet and inviting.

So, if you’re planning for a vacation someday in the future, after this pandemic, consider this small island in San Pascual, Masbate, also known as Burias Island.

Traveling to Sombrero Island, San Pascual, Masbate (popularly known as Burias Island) would take around 7-8 hours, if you’re coming from Manila and would take a flight to Naga City. From here, take a jeepney to Pasacao, for an hour, and take a motorboat to San Pascual, Masbate, for 2-3 hours. You may rest for the night at any hotel or lodging house when at the capital and go for an early morning trip to Sombrero Island for approximately 2 hours.

Nature and all its intricacies, including us, are but a creation that would wither in time like a flower. What we have now is but a short life to enjoy.
